The V-22 combines the vertical take-off ability of the helicopter with the speed of an aircraft. The model has numerous features, such as: transparent cockpit windows, optional short or extended refueling boom, tilting engines and exchangeable closed or open cargo hatch. VMM-161 was at its formation back in 1951 the first helicopter unit in the world to utilize helicopters. A good reason to develop the fi rst Osprey in the colors of this squadron.
