Praga RND "Randál"

Under the Praga RND name, small commercial vehicles and buses with diesel engines were produced in Prague's "Pragovka" between 1934 and 1955. Praga RND buses were used to a limited extent in urban transport, but they were operated by most of the transport companies of the time until approximately the mid-1960s.

The body of this vehicle is characterized by an all-metal construction, made of steel, externally sheet metal skeleton. The inner walls are also covered with sheet metal, the ceiling formwork is made of umakartove boards. After the war, the vehicle was equipped with additional frame reinforcement under the engine, and they also had a heavier transmission in the transfer case, because the diesel engine had a lower number of revolutions. The Praga RND bus had a lower maximum speed compared to the Praga RN type, namely 60 km/h, but fuel consumption was 16-17l / 100km, which was really low for a three-ton category truck.

The Praga RN/RND buses were already replaced by the more capacious Škoda 706 RO buses from the main lines in the 1950s, but they continued to serve on secondary routes for several years.
