Product description

The model of the competition car - TATRA 815 DAKAR 2001 PETROBRAS is made of printed sheet metal in a scale of 1:43.

Truck No. 427 of the BR Lubrax team (crew: Tomáš Tomeček, Andre De Azevedo, Jaromír Martinec) set off on January 1, 2001 for the 23rd annual Paris - Dakar relly. Unfortunately, they were forced to resign from the race on January 11, 2001 ...

... Yesterday (January 11, 2001) our team tried to find a solution, but it was immediately clear to us that we would not turn our Tatras into a 4x4 car. The left front wheel will not be driven and in this state we cannot go out into the sand. We considered continuing the competition at the cost of further destroying the car and collecting more penalty hours, but we agreed that it didn't make sense.

Due to the fact that it is not possible to eliminate defects on our truck, caused during the 9th and then the 10th stage of the Paris - Dakar 2001 rally, we are forced to withdraw from the competition.

We will now transport the race truck to Dakar, where it will be ready to transport boats back to Europe. The accompanying truck will continue to be available to other BR LUBRAX Petrobras team competitors. However, its driver Petr Vodák will drive a damaged racing truck to Dakar and Tomáš Tomeček will sit behind the wheel of the accompanying Tatras as the most experienced member of the Czech crew.
