Prototype of the A380-800 is already able to sit on its own wheels, and the gigantic Rolls-Royce Trent 900 engines are currently being tried and tested underneath the wings of an A340. Thus, it seems as if nothing can stop the mega jet‘s maiden flight scheduled for spring 2005. If everything runs as expected, Lufthansa will receive its first A380-800 in September 2007. The registration D-AIMA has already been determined.
