The Škoda 706 MTSP 27 is a special truck developed on the basis of the proven Škoda 706 MT series, which was one of the mainstays of Czechoslovak utility vehicles in the post-war period. This type was intended primarily for agricultural and municipal use, where the emphasis was on cross-country ability, versatility and high durability in difficult working conditions.
The 706 MT series was created as a more robust and simpler alternative to the more modern trambus vehicles. It retained the classic concept with a bonnet cab, a rigid frame and a proven in-line six-cylinder diesel engine. The MTSP 27 type featured a specially modified chassis with 4×4 all-wheel drive, which allowed the installation of various agricultural attachments, spreaders, tankers or work equipment.
