The Public Security (abbreviated VB, cze. Veřejná bezpečnost, abbreviated VB) was a uniformed branch of the National Security Corps, which performed the role of the police in Czechoslovakia between 1947 and 1991, i.e. mainly during the totalitarian rule of the Communist Party of Czechoslovakia.
