In autumn 2022, Lufthansa Cargo began introducing converted Airbus A321 freighters (P2F) to complement its long-haul Boeing 777Fs on medium-haul routes across Europe, North Africa, and the Middle East. Aircraft D-AEUI was originally built in 2012 for Air Berlin, later flew with Austrian airline Niki and Eurowings, and was converted to a freighter in 2023. It carries the name “Dia dhuit”, an Irish greeting, continuing Lufthansa Cargo’s tradition of naming aircraft after common greetings from the countries it serves.
