The Mil Mi-8, NATO name Hip, was a multi-purpose transport helicopter, designed and produced by the russian company Mil. Mil is the Moscow helicopter factory named after its designer Mikhail Leontjewitsch. The Mi-8 saw service in 1967, more than 17,000 Hips were built.
