The Mil Mi-24, NATO name Hind, is a heavily armed attack helicopter, designed and produced by the russian company Mil. Mil is the Moscow helicopter factory named after its designer Mikhail Leontjewitsch. The first flight was in September 1969, it saw service in 1972, approximately 2,000 Hinds were built.
