Product description
A ready-made collector’s model of the legendary Peugeot 205 Turbo 16 Evo 2, produced by IXO. The model depicts the car—bearing race number 6—driven by Stig Blomqvist and co-driver B. Berglund at the 1986 1000 Lakes Rally in Finland, a round of the World Championship. At the time, Blomqvist was a Ford driver; however, following a tragedy in Portugal, Ford withdrew its RS200 model from competition, leading the Peugeot Talbot Sport team to "borrow" Blomqvist for this event. Driving a car he was previously unfamiliar with, he achieved an impressive 4th-place finish. The rally was won by his teammate, Timo Salonen. This event was one of the final competitions of the legendary Group B era, which came to an end at the close of 1986.
The model features the white Peugeot Talbot Sport livery, complete with the iconic blue, yellow, and red stripes. It includes sponsor decals (Shell, Michelin), race numbers, a large rear wing, and a roof-mounted antenna. It comes in a clear PVC display case, attached to a base.
