The Renault 8 is a four- to five-seater rear-engined car with all-wheel disc brakes produced by Renault from 1962 to 1973. The R8 was followed by the larger R 10 in 1965. The Renault 8 was also sold in a sporty version as the R8 Gordini, until 1968, only in blue with two stripes and four headlights, after 1968 it was available in the French colors of white, red and the already mentioned blue, but in no other. Production of the R8 ended in 1971, production continued in the Spanish branch under the name 8S until 1976. In 1969, license production also took place in Romania as the Dacia 1100. About 8,000 units were brought to the Czechoslovakia between 1963 and 1971.
