The SAME company was founded in 1942 by the brothers Francesco and Eugenio Cassani in the northern Italian city of Treviglio. Today, SAME belongs to the SDF Group, which also includes the well-known brands Deutz-Fahr, Lamborghini, Hürlimann and Grégoire. The Hercules 160 tractor was launched by SAME in the late 1970s. It featured a 6.2-liter turbocharged six-cylinder diesel engine that could deliver 160 hp at 2,200 rpm. The Hercules 160 was equipped with 12 forward and 4 reverse gears and was available in 25 km/h and 30 km/h versions. It was produced between 1979 and 1983.
