Toyota manufactures large minivans for the Japanese market under the name Alphard / Vellfire. The origins of the Alphard date back to 2002 and the range was restored in 2015. Despite their age, these cars still deliver impressive sales: 95,000 units for the Alphard, 6,000 for the Vellfire. By comparison, the best-selling Nissan in Japan in 2021 was the Note, which had a total of 90,000 units.
