Product description
High-quality metal model car Volvo 240 Turbo customs in matte-light blue color from 1986.
240 Turbo Evolution (1983): 500 "Evolution" models were built to meet production requirements to qualify for FIA International Group A touring car racing. The homologation process, which was intended to make the car competitive with the Jaguar XKS coupe and BMW 635s, was controversial because VMS (Volvo Motor Sport) decided to convert 500 of the designated cars at a time in the United States rather than directly on European assembly lines. After the US FIA show, 500 Evolution cars stripped of the Evolution kit parts were assembled and sold across America. To be clear, all 500 of these cars had sunroofs and none were ever sent back to VMS to be built into Group A racing cars.
