The real BAC 1-11 aircraft, manufactured by the British Aircraft Corporation, was designed as a short- and medium-haul transport machine with a capacity of approximately 80 to 100 passengers. Scandinavian Airlines System (SAS) used this type of aircraft during the 60s and 70s, mainly on regional routes across northern and western Europe.
