Fresh from the assembly hall, this third pre-series aircraft was given a temporary civil code and a Swiss crew and was thus loaned to the International Red Cross for humanitarian aid flights to the region of Nigeria, which was shattered by a bloody civil war, in Nigeria. The machine flew a total of 198 missions in four months before returning to Germany in the spring of 1969.
