In 1967, Texas-based Braniff International revolutionized commercial aviation with its radical new color scheme – or rather, color schemes. No less than 15 different colors were supposed to attract the attention and sympathy of passengers. This striking red Boeing 727-200 is the first in Braniff's new 1:500 scale model series. Red would become one of the most popular colors, painted on no fewer than 17 aircraft, including seven 727 trijets. Other colors and aircraft types would follow.
