After the merger of United Airlines and Continental Airlines in 2010, a new entity was created under the name United, but with the Continental logo and branding (blue ball on the tail). To honor the company's history, several aircraft received a special "retro livery", reminiscent of the Continental Airlines design of the past. The aircraft has: the historic Continental design of the 60s/70s - known as the "Blue Skyway" with a red stripe and the old Continental logo ("meatball").
