Product description
A high-quality plastic model of the United Airlines Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner "100 Years." The model is crafted with precision and attention to detail, faithfully replicating the real aircraft. It comes packaged in a cardboard box.
On April 6, 1926, Varney Air Lines—named after its founder, Walter Varney—launched its first airmail flight from Pasco, Washington, to Elko, Nevada. A year later, William Boeing founded his own airline. Through a series of acquisitions in the following years, the manufacturer brought several companies—including Varney Air Lines—under one roof and renamed its own firm, Boeing Air Transport, to United Aircraft & Transport Corporation. Eventually, in 1931, the company name was shortened to United Air Lines. Since then, the airline has grown into one of the world's largest; with a fleet of nearly 1,100 aircraft—excluding the United Express regional fleet—United operates the largest fleet in the world. Following the Dreamliner model already available in 1:500 scale (item no. 539050), the "Centenary-787" model is now also available in two versions at 1:200 scale. One of them is a model from our SnapFit series (item no. 614979), and the other is a limited-edition collector's piece featuring detailed printing and an authentic chassis design with rubber tires.
