The Grumman EA-6B Prowler was a carrier-based electronic warfare aircraft developed for the United States Navy and Marine Corps. Derived from the A-6 Intruder airframe, the EA-6B was specially designed for electronic attack missions, including radar jamming and suppression of enemy air defenses. Aircraft BuNo 160609 served with VAQ-129 “Vikings,” the U.S. Navy’s Fleet Replacement Squadron for training EA-6B crews, and wore a special “Naval Aviation Centennial” paint scheme in 2011 celebrating 100 years of U.S. naval aviation.
