Product description
Luftwaffe Fighter Squadron 71 (Jagdgeschwader 71) was formed in 1959 as West Germany's first operational Jet Fighter squadron. The squadron was initially equipped with the Canadair Sabre and later flew the F-104 Starfighter before moving on to the F-4 Phantom II in 1974. In 2009, the squadron celebrated its 50 Anniversary and painted one of it's F-4 in this striking paint-scheme, depicting the famous Red Baron Fokker Dr.I triplane on its tail, in honor of the squadron's "Richthofen" title. The underside of the aircraft was also painted with silhouettes of the Sabre and Starfighter.
