Product description

A high-quality metal model of the Henschel 123 military aircraft (3./StG 165 "Immelmann" – Germany, 1937). This is a detailed and precisely crafted model based on a historical German Air Force aircraft from the pre-World War II era. The package includes a detachable stand, allowing the model to be displayed in either a take-off or landing configuration. The model comes in a cardboard box with a blister insert.

The Henschel Hs 123A was a single-seat biplane dive bomber and close-air-support aircraft. It was developed and built by the Henschel company, which had previously specialized in the manufacture of railway locomotives. The opportunity to design and produce aircraft arose following Hitler's rise to power in 1935 and the subsequent formation of the Luftwaffe. The Hs 123 first took flight in 1936 and was deployed by the German Luftwaffe during the Spanish Civil War. The aircraft also saw service during the early stages of World War II, though it proved inadequate when compared to competing designs.

The designation "Henschel Immelmann" refers to a specific historical livery of the Hs 123A dive bomber, as operated by unit 3./StG 165 (3rd Squadron of the 165th Dive Bomber Wing) of the German Luftwaffe. This unit was named in honor of the World War I flying ace Max Immelmann.
