Product description

The Jawa 700 Jaray (1934) model car from a limited series is precisely and faithfully crafted according to the original vehicle. It comes mounted on a base in a transparent acrylic display box, packaged in a paper box with a transparent window.

There have been and still are motorsport events that, even decades later, prove to be milestones in automotive history – one of these is the “1000 mil československých” race, or “1000 Mile Race of Czechoslovakia.”

This event was first held in 1933. The nationwide interest and the advertising success for the two winning teams prompted the Jawa company to participate in 1934 with specially built cars. At the time this decision was made, Jawa had not yet started manufacturing cars; this only began with the licensing of the DKW Type F 2, which rolled off the assembly line as the Model 700 from 1934 onwards. In order to launch its new model on the market and impress the public with a first-class place in this competition, Jawa put all its eggs in the victory basket and spared no expense!

While the new Jawa 700 Sport competed in both convertible and closed versions, there was another sports car from the factory in Tynec nad Sázavou – it was called the Jawa 700 Jaray Coupé. Paul Jaray traveled to Tynec nad Sázavou at Jawa's invitation to design this special version, and he came up with the new shape in just a few days.

With the number 4 on the doors, the factory driver duo Jaroslav Kaiser and František Kronberger finished the race in second place behind the winner – the celebrations at the Jawa factory must have been huge!
