Product description

High-quality metal model of the 1980 Mazda RX-7 sports car with detailed processing. The model is created according to a real model. The model is packed on a stand in a paper box.

The Mazda RX-7 is a sports car that was produced by the Japanese car manufacturer Mazda between 1978 and 2002. The original Mazda RX-7 was equipped with a twin-rotor Wankel engine with a volume of 1146 cm³ and a sporty arrangement with the engine behind the front axle and rear drive. The RX-7 was the direct successor to the RX-3 (both were sold as the Savanna in Japan) and subsequently replaced all other rotary-engined Mazdas except the Cosmo.

The RX-7 has made Car and Driver magazine's 10Best list five times. A total of 811,634 units were produced.
Series 1 (1978-1980) is usually referred to as "SA22C" from the first alphanumeric VIN code. This RX-7 series had unpainted steel bumpers. In 1980, Mazda produced 2,500 special North American models, known as LS (Leather Sport).

Options and models were different in each country. The size of the layout and interior decoration in the Series 3 was changed only in the North American versions. Additionally, North America was the only market to offer the first generation RX-7 with the fuel-injected 13B engine, the GSL-SE model. The supercharged 12A engine (no intercooler) was available in the latest Series 3 models in Janonsk.

Sales were good, with a total of 474,565 first-generation models produced; 377,878 alone were sold in the US. In 2001, Sports Car International magazine ranked the first-generation RX-7 #7 on its Top Sports Car of the 1970s list.
