With more than 3,700 units built and deployed to no fewer than twelve air forces, the Vampire was one of the most successful first generation jet fighters. The 112th season, relocated to Fassberg in Lower Saxony in 1951, was one of the many British units equipped with the type. The unit was also nicknamed "Sharkmouth Squadron" because it was the first to paint the now famous shark mouth on your aircraft during World War II.
