Product description
High-quality metal model of the Boeing 747-8 civil aircraft in a detailed design based on the real model. The package includes a stand and landing gear.
The Boeing 747-8 is the latest series of large, remote-controlled wide-body aircraft in the Boeing 747 family from Boeing Commercial Airplanes. It is the largest model variant of the 747 and Boeing's largest aircraft overall. After the introduction of the 747-400, Boeing explored larger versions of the 747 as potential competitors for the proposed double-decker Airbus A3XX, later developed as the Airbus A380. The lengthened aircraft, originally called the 747 Advanced, was officially launched as the 747-8 on November 14, 2005, this designation reflecting its technological ties to the 787 Dreamliner. At the time, Boeing predicted a market for 300 aircraft.
The first flight of the Boeing 747-8 was made in the 747-8F freighter version on February 8, 2010, followed by the flight of the passenger version, the 747-8I Intercontinental, on March 20, 2011. The freighter version was delivered in October 2011, and the passenger version entered commercial service in June 2012.
