This Mercedes Benz 190 SL (W121) (1955) Diecast Model Car is Black and features working steering, suspension, wheels and also opening bonnet with engine, boot, doors.
It is made by Minichamps and is 1:18 scale (approx. 25cm / 9.8in long).

The Mercedes-Benz 190 SL is technologically based on the saloon of the W 120/ W121 series. In order to mark the difference, the Ponton model 190 additionally received the internal code B II, so the full code is W 121 B II. Since the later SL models received the internal code R ( R = Roadster, from the R 107 onwards), the 190 SL is also referred to as the R 121. The 190 SL was only offered with the 1.9 litre engine. This was a sole development (M 121 B II) and the engine had 105 horse power, which was more than the engine of the saloon. In 1953 the first prototypes of a two and four seater versions of the 180 Ponton model, whose body was pretty much the same as the saloon, were made but later scrapped due to a design in favour of Walter Haecker and Hermann Ahrens. The 190 SL was supposed to be similar to his big brother 300 SL gull wing, but the performance was inferior (105 HP to 215 HP). As a result Daimler marketed the 190 SL as a touring sports car. Two SLs being offered at the same time was unique in the history of Mercedes-Benz until the SLK was introduced.
