The Aérospatiale-BAC Concorde was the only commercially operated supersonic airliner in the Western world (decommissioned in 2003), with a top speed of Mach 2.04 (2,330 km/h). Concorde was a joint project between France and the United Kingdom, based on an agreement between the governments of both countries on 29 November 1962.
