Product description

High-quality model of the military transport aircraft Lockheed C-5A Galaxy in the design of the Tennessee Air National Guard, 155th Airlift Squadron, Memphis – U.S. Air Force. This is a detailed and precisely processed model in a combination of metal and plastic based on the real strategic transport aircraft of the US Air Force. The model faithfully captures the robust design of one of the largest military aircraft in the world and is an attractive collector's item for fans of military and transport aircraft. The package includes a stand for displaying the model in flight position. The model is packed in a paper box and blister.

The Lockheed C-5A Galaxy is one of the largest military transport aircraft ever produced, and for many years formed the backbone of the strategic transport of the U.S. Air Force. The aircraft, registration 69-0014, was delivered by Lockheed in 1971 and entered service at Dover Air Force Base in 1973. The following year, it made history with a unique test in which a Minuteman intercontinental ballistic missile was launched from the aircraft in flight. It later served with the Tennessee Air National Guard and participated in deployments around the world. After more than four decades of service, it was retired in 2013 and is now on display as the largest exhibit at the Air Mobility Command Museum in Dover, Delaware.
